Castle Food & Drink Fest returns with 30+ traders and free family fun

Street food, artisan traders, live entertainment and free family activities are all on the line-up as Castle Food & Drink Fest returns to the town centre tomorrow (25 July).

The free event will welcome more than 30 traders to Newcastle-under-Lyme, offering everything from burgers to brownies and coffee to cat food.

They include Backyard Burgers, Beehemian Wrapzody, Big Yum Bao, Chefsey Africana, Churros2Ltd and Hartington Cheese, plus independent retailers such as Dragon’s Destiny, Leegitimate 3D Prints and Luosko German Shepherd Dog Rescue.

Delivered by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID in collaboration with Independent Street and supported by 6 Towns Radio, the event will take place between 10am and 4pm.

Activities include a Natural Tie Dye Workshop with artist Holly Johnson hosted by Get Creative in Castle at 2/3 Lancaster Building between 11am and 3pm. Families can bring along a white 100% cotton item, such as a T-shirt, tote bag or tea towel to transform using natural fruit and vegetable dyes.

Free face painting will be available between 11am and 3pm, the first 50 visitors from 11.30am will receive a free ice cream courtesy of Rossi’s Ices and there will be free trampolines with Warwicks Funfair throughout the day.  

The 6 Towns Radio team will also be hosting free-to-play Castle Bingo at 12pm and 2pm with ‘Castle themed prizes and vouchers to spend with Newcastle-under-Lyme businesses up for grabs.

“We’ve got an incredible line up of traders travelling in from across the region alongside our fantastic town centre businesses for a real foodie day out, plus plenty of free activities to keep families entertained throughout the day.”

  • Castle Food & Drink Fest will return on Bank Holiday Saturday 29th August as part of Newcastle-under-Lyme’s Jazz & Blues Festival weekend.  There is still an opportunity for food, drink and artisan traders to be part of the August event.
