The derelict site of a former popular Stoke-on-Trent pub will go under the hammer later this week.
The former Bell & Bear pub in Shelton will be part of Bond Wolfe’s auction on 9 July and is listed with a guide price of £365,000.
The pub has been closed for decades and an outline planning application for three retail units and 41 apartments on the site, which measures approximately 958 sq ft, has been lodged but not yet determined.
Colin Totney, land and development surveyor at Bond Wolfe, said: “This freehold development opportunity includes the former Bell & Bear pub and its adjacent premises at 27 and 29 Snow Hill, in the Shelton area of Stoke-on-Trent.
“This is a site with potential for various uses and development, subject to planning permission.
“The existing property currently comprises the derelict former pub and surrounding site with frontages onto Snow Hill and Cutts Street, with a gross site area we understand to be around 0.23 acres.
“We also note that an outline planning application for a mixed use development of the site has been submitted but not yet determined.
