Housebuilder Bloor Homes has opened its new £5.2 million solar-powered regional headquarters in Lichfield.

The 18,500 sq ft, two-storey building is now the operational base for more than 50 employees, with space to support further training and development as Bloor Homes continues to play a role in meeting housing needs across the region and nationally.

The Wall headquarters, delivered by Deeley Construction, were designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent certification with sustainability at its core, incorporating 160 solar panels, 20 electric vehicle charging points, permeable paving and a sustainable urban drainage system.

Paul Degg, regional managing director for Bloor Homes’ Midlands region, said: “This represents a new chapter for Bloor Homes Midlands; the investment we have in our teams and creating the right environment for collaboration is important as we continue to deliver high quality new homes and communities across the region.

“We have created a workspace that not only reflects modern working practices and meets our needs today, but also futureproofs the way our teams will work for years to come. Here’s to the next chapter from our new home.”

Leicestershire-based Bloor Homes, which built its first home in 1969, has nine regional offices across the country, with over 70 developments across England.

Current developments in Staffordshire are in Penkridge, Stafford and Burton upon Trent.

The new Lichfield headquarters, which were originally due to open early this year, accommodate staff previously based in Tamworth.
