Cannock-based refurbishment and fit-out specialist Inco Contracts has opened an office near Glasgow as it seeks to expand its share of the Scottish construction market.
The company has taken space at New Alderston House on Strathclyde Business Park, giving it a permanent base for projects north of the border.
The expansion follows Inco’s completion of a heritage refurbishment at 95 Bothwell Street in Glasgow. The landmark building, which has appeared in Spider-Man and Indiana Jones films, required specialist repairs to its stonework, ornate cornices, balcony steelwork and roof parapets.
Inco has also secured an industrial refurbishment contract in Blantyre, adding to its pipeline of work in Scotland.
The new operation will be led by Gerry Meade, who has more than 25 years’ experience delivering refurbishment and fit-out schemes across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. His initial priorities will include recruiting locally, developing a Scottish supply chain and building relationships with clients and building consultancies.
Matthew Penswick, operations director at Inco Contracts, said establishing a permanent presence would enable the business to work more closely with clients and partners.
He said: “Having a team on the ground will allow us to develop closer relationships with clients, work with more Scottish building consultancies and become a genuine part of the local supply chain.
“This is a long-term commitment for Inco. We’re here to invest in relationships, grow our team locally and build a strong presence.”
Meade added: “Having a permanent base near Glasgow gives us the opportunity to be closer to our clients, better understand the local market and deliver the collaborative service that has underpinned Inco’s success elsewhere in the UK.”
Headquartered on Hawks Green Lane in Cannock, Inco operates as a principal contractor on projects throughout the UK. Its work ranges from complex industrial refurbishments and building-services schemes to specialist heritage and conservation projects.
