1 min read

Families can enjoy free summer fun in Stoke-on-Trent’s city centre next week as the Smithfield Summer Social returns.

The event takes place at Smithfield, in Hanley, on Friday, 14 August and promises street food vendors including Bowes Pizza, Backyard Burgers and Tojo’s, drinks from La Paz, plus music from DJ.

The Summer Social coincides with an urban beach located in the centre of the Smithfield Estate, which is open during selected times throughout the school holidays 2 September.

Adele Simmons, of co-working hub Smithfield Works, said: “As well as some amazing food vendors serving up some delicious treats, there will also be music from 4pm thanks to our guest DJ.

“We welcome everyone to come along and enjoy some summer fun – all in the public realm of the Smithfield estate.”

She added: “Also our urban beach is now open until 2 September, for families to come along and enjoy throughout the school holidays – all free of charge. So bring your buckets and spades and enjoy.”
