Businesses are being invited to explore how modern work experience can help employers develop their future workforce.
Business Meets Education is a free event taking place at Weston Park on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border on Wednesday, 16 September.
It aims to bring together businesses, education providers and support organisations to connect, share ideas and gain practical insight.
Attendees will hear from the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Careers Hub and Careers Observatory about the value of work experience, the Government’s commitment to increasing opportunities for young people and the support available to businesses wanting to get involved.
A panel discussion will also bring together local businesses and partners to share practical examples and experiences of how modern work experience can benefit both employers and young people.
The event will also see the launch of the Inspiring Tomorrow’s Workforce project and Grow, How? Wow!, with new resources aimed at making it easier for businesses, schools and colleges to work together.
The morning will conclude with networking and a marketplace session, allowing attendees to meet organisations offering advice, support and connections.
A spokesperson said: “Whether you are an employer looking to develop your future talent pipeline, a school or college seeking stronger employer links, or a partner organisation supporting young people into employment, this event will provide valuable insight, practical resources and opportunities to build new connections.”
The event is being staged by South Staffordshire Council, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Careers Hub and partners, and is open to all Staffordshire-based businesses regardless of size or sector.
