Home bakers in Lichfield are being encouraged to put their skills to the test at a charity event judged by local culinary experts.
Shire House’s fundraiser in aid of St Giles Hospice will bring together tenants of the co-working and office space, co-workers and the wider community for a friendly battle to be named Master Baker.
Their delights will be judged by Liam Dillon, chef patron of Michelin Star winner The Boat, and Alison Ranwell from popular city centre Italian deli Mangia Mangia.
The event on 22 September forms part of Shire House’s wider ambition to create a space which brings Lichfield’s business and local communities together, while supporting organisations and causes across the area.
Operations Director Amanda Watson said: “We’ve always wanted Shire House to be much more than somewhere people simply come to work. It’s about creating a community, bringing people together and finding different ways to support the city we’re part of.
“Raising money for charity in unique and interesting ways is very much part of our personality, and the Bake Off gives us an opportunity to involve our tenants and co-workers while also giving a select number of others the chance to compete.
“And with Liam and Alison judging, we’re certainly not making it easy for our bakers! We know there are some incredibly talented people in and around Lichfield, so we’re looking forward to seeing what they create and hopefully raising a great amount for St Giles Hospice at the same time.”
Following the judging, slices of the entered bakes will be sold to tenants, co-workers and visitors, with proceeds going to St Giles Hospice, in Whittington, Lichfield.
Those wishing to take part can enter by completing this registration form and listing the anticipated ingredients in their bake.
Entries must then be taken to Shire House on the day.
