A family-owned furniture business in Stone is looking forward to a new chapter after announcing it will relocate to the town’s High Street this autumn.
LCT Homewares, which has been based at Whitebridge Industrial Estate since September 2024, was formed by Lindsey Curtis in 2023, originally running from her garage at home.
The business is run by Stone resident Lindsey, alongside the support of her husband Jason and daughters Daisy, Bethany and Phoebe.
The business specialises in sourcing furniture and homewares which can be offered to customers at more affordable prices, particularly end-of-line, ex-display furniture from well-known retailers.
Lindsey says the move to the former Barclays Bank building will allow them to display more furniture, new lines and rotate stock regularly to offer a fresh offering for customers.
Lindsey said: “Since we opened at the industrial estate in 2024, we’ve continued to grow, so moving to the High Street feels like the next chapter of something that really did start from very humble beginnings.
“Moving to the High Street will give us so much more visibility and passing trade. We’ll be able to keep things similar to what our current customers like about LCT, but offer so much more too as we’ll have more space.
“Being part of the Whitebridge Industrial Estate has been great, this just feels like the next step for us.”
Lindsey says the move to the High Street is a “significant investment” for the business and hopes in future to create more opportunities locally.
She added: “I really like to think there will be opportunities to expand the team in future, especially if we continue to grow. We have invested a lot into this and as well as taking on the bigger premises, there is also the cost of getting the shop ready and increasing stock levels.
“We’ve has such amazing support from people in the town and to give something back really is a great feeling.
“We have customers who have been coming to us since the early days, and lots of people who started out as customers who I now genuinely look forward to seeing and having a chat with when they come into the shop.”
LCT Homewares plans to be up and running in Stone High Street by the end of October.
