Sizzlers owner announces Leek expansion and two new buffet restaurants

1 min read

Takeaway owner Arfan Mohammed is expanding his Sizzlers Fast Food business with two new buffet restaurants and to new sites in Leek, creating up to 60 jobs.

Arfan has begun work on a new buffet restaurant at a base on Abbots Road in Abbey Hulton, Stoke-on-Trent, which he expects to open next month.

He also plans to create a second buffet restaurant at a former off-licence on Market Street in Kidsgrove, next door to his existing takeaway, subject to planning permission.

The buffet restaurants are expected to seat between 40 and 50 people, and the Abbey Hulton venue will feature a buffet takeaway section.

The expansion also marks Sizzlers’ entry into Leek, with Arfan having bought the Pizza Line business on St Edward Street. He said the premises are almost ready to reopen as Sizzlers at Pizza Line.

Arfan has also taken on the former Moorland Balti takeaway on Moorhouse Street and will refurbish the premises before reopening in November.

He expects the four new ventures to create between 50 and 60 jobs.

Sizzlers has previously attracted attention online for its fusion dishes, including a doner oatcake.

Arfan also works to give back to local communities by helping pensioners, supporting families in need and fundraising for good causes.

He told Daily Focus: “The Sizzlers journey started in 2019 and we are only where we are now thanks to our customers and community support.

“We are about serving quality food but at affordable prices and I like to give back to the communities where I base my businesses.

“While the buffet restaurants will be open for dining and deliveries in the evenings, I want to open them up to the community in the day, such as offering meals for pensioners and giving them somewhere to come and meet people.”
