A new initiative has been launched to give businesses a helping hand to connect with veterans, service leavers and military families across the county.
Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce has partnered with Troopr, a platform which brings jobs, training, housing, discounts and support services together in one place for the Armed Forces community.
As an Armed Forces Covenant signatory and DERS Gold Award holder, Staffordshire Chambers has a profile on the platform and plans are underway for a dedicated Stoke-on-Trent Digital Support Hub.
The hub will connect the region’s Armed Forces community with local employers, charities and support services.
Chris Plant, Deputy CEO of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “We’re pleased to be working with Troopr to help Staffordshire businesses connect with and support our local Armed Forces community.
“There are many ways businesses can offer their support, from employment and training opportunities to discounts and other services, and this partnership will help make those opportunities easier to find.”
Andrew Jackson, Executive Chairman of Troopr and a former Brigadier, said: “Staffordshire’s businesses have a real opportunity here to stand alongside their local Armed Forces community. Not just with goodwill, but with relevant jobs, training and practical support.”
Businesses that can offer a veteran a job, advice, a discount or other support can get involved through Troopr.
Organisations that are signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant or Service Charities can check whether they are already listed on the Troopr – Organisation Directory.
