A Burntwood-based security seals designer and manufacturer is looking to double its workforce in the next few years thanks to a major £9.5 million investment.

Mega Fortris’ UK headquarters are being transformed into a state‑of‑the‑art production facility, positioning the site as a major manufacturing and distribution hub for customers across the UK and Europe. The expansion is expected to create up to 65 new jobs over the coming years.

The company currently employs 30 people at its Burntwood Business Park, after it was established in 2002.

A major milestone in the company’s journey has been the transition of its warehouse and logistics team into its Burntwood facility. Company bosses say the move “marks an important step forward in strengthening our UK operations and creating a more efficient, future ready environment to support our continued growth.”

A key part of the company’s investment programme has also been the upgrade of the site’s electrical infrastructure, with more than £325,000 invested in the substation and associated electrical works.

Mega Fortris UK said this upgrade “provides the power capacity required to support the next generation of manufacturing and automation equipment being introduced to the site and is a critical enabling investment that supports both current operations and future expansion plans.”

As well as creating new jobs, the company is also keen to develop its workforce and promote from within.

Managing Director Keith Edgar said: “Our continued investment in Burntwood reflects our long-term confidence in both the business and the region. Over recent years, we have invested significantly in our UK operation to strengthen our manufacturing capabilities, introduce advanced automation technologies, and create the infrastructure needed to support future growth.

“These investments enable us to provide an even higher level of service, quality, and responsiveness to our customers, while building greater resilience into our supply chain. Just as importantly, we are investing in our people, creating opportunities for career development and ensuring our team grows alongside the business.

“Burntwood is becoming an increasingly important manufacturing, automation and distribution hub for Mega Fortris, and we remain committed to supporting sustainable growth, innovation and employment in Staffordshire for many years to come.”
