A legionella and water safety consultancy has become one of the first businesses in the UK to benefit from the British Business Bank’s new Community ENABLE Funding programme.

Pete Tyson Consultancy has secured a six‑figure loan through BCRS Business Loans to acquire environmental compliance specialist Qube Environmental.

The two firms will merge and trade as Qube Environmental, creating a strengthened Stoke‑on‑Trent operation delivering water treatment compliance and safety services nationwide.

The deal will safeguard seven jobs and support plans to expand the team as the business broadens its environmental compliance offering.

Qube Environmental, founded by Judith and Ashley Richardson, provides services ranging from legionella control and water safety to asbestos management and compliance planning.

Operating since 2002, BCRS Business Loans will draw upon the Community ENABLE Funding programme to offer loans ranging from £25,001 to £250,000.

Managing Director Pete Tyson said: “After 27 years in the water treatment industry, my ambition has always been to build a successful, growing business that makes a real difference to the organisations we support. The acquisition of Qube Environmental is a major step forward in that journey.

“BCRS have been fantastic throughout the process and genuinely committed to helping us realise our ambitions. Their funding package has enabled us to invest in our future, expand our team and strengthen the services we provide across the UK.”

Stephen Deakin, BCRS Business Loans Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to support Pete Tyson as one of our first businesses to receive funding from the CEF programme.

“Qube Environmental is exactly the type of business we want to support and we’re proud that our funding has helped support the next stage of their journey.

“At BCRS, our mission is to ensure no viable business goes unsupported, and this investment demonstrates the positive impact that accessible, relationship‑driven finance can have for SMEs across Stoke‑on‑Trent and the wider region.”
