Three international trade experts have been lined up to speak at an event aimed at helping Staffordshire businesses to protect their operations and trade globally with confidence.

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce’s next Big Business Breakfast event, Doing Business in a Changing World: How global change is reshaping local business, will look at the latest developments impacting international trade, and how local businesses are responding.

Richard Oppenheim from the FCDO Diplomatic Advisory Hub will discuss global instability, trade, tariffs and supply chains.

Dr Eve Davies, Co-Founder and Communications Director at ProtectaPet Ltd, will share the company’s experience of growing exports by 2,000% over five years before making the decision to stop selling into 22 countries.

Chris Ratcliffe, Global Sales and Marketing Director at Cosy, will also share his experience of almost 30 years working in international expansion and distributor partnerships.

The event will end with a panel discussion, giving attendees the opportunity to hear how businesses are responding to the changes taking place across international markets.

Alison Tomlinson, Head of International Trade at Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “International trade has always been important to Staffordshire businesses. But with tariffs, supply chains and relationships between countries changing, there’s a lot for businesses to keep up with.

“This breakfast is a chance to look at some of those changes and hear from businesses that have experienced them first-hand.”

Kelly Edwards, Head of Events and Facilities at Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, added: “The Big Business Breakfast has grown into one of our most popular event series, with a range of topics that are relevant to businesses across Staffordshire.

“We always receive great feedback from attendees, and of course the events are helped by the great food provided by the catering team at bet365.”

The Big Business Breakfast takes place at the bet365 stadium, in Stoke-on-Trent, from 8.30am until 11.30am on Friday, 6 November 2026.

This event is open to both members and non-members.
