A Stafford-based Public Relations Consultant has won a coveted industry award for the second year running.

Tillymint Communications was crowned Independent Practitioner of the Year at the Midlands Pride Awards, run by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).

Daily Focus reported in August that a number of Staffordshire firms were hoping for success after making the shortlist in various categories at the awards, with Stafford-based technical PR agency Stone Junction and Stoke-on-Trent’s Lesniak Swann also picking up accolades on the night.

Stone Junction won the gold award in the Environmental Campaign category and was the Best Long-term Campaign silver winner.

Lesniak Swann came home with the silver award for Construction, Property or Infrastructure Campaign for work to rebuild business for construction machinery dealer Finning UK & Ireland

Judges for the Independent Practitioner of the Year were impressed with how Tillymint Communications “met each challenge head on” and highlighted its “excellent growth and results for clients and planned delivery model.”

Company founder, former journalist Alison Gallagher-Hughes, said: “It is such an achievement to be recognised by the industry for the second year running.

“As a Chartered member of the CIPR, I know first-hand how highly it sets the bar for communications professionals in respect of standards and ethics and I am delighted that the judges felt Tillymint worthy of this honour.”

The award ceremony was held in Birmingham on Friday, 17 November.

Stafford-based Edson Evers was shortlisted in the Integrated Campaign, Low Budget Campaign and Best Use of Media Relations categories.

Stone Junction also made the shortlist for the Corporate and Communications Campaign and PR Consultancy of the Year categories. It had previously held the latter for four out of the last five years.

Lesniak Swann was also shortlisted for Low Budget Campaign and Tillymint for Healthcare and/or Wellbeing Campaign.
