A new Starbucks on a busy commuter route will open its doors later this week after months of delays.
The drive thru store on the A34 The Fillybrooks, in Stone, will begin welcoming customers from 6am on Friday, 1 December.
A special offer will be on for the first 100 customers through the door.
The venue has been in the pipeline for over 18 months, with permission passed to construct the store at the former Dan’s Motorcycles in March last year. But a battle for planning permission related to a totem sign pole then took place.
The shell of the building was constructed but then sat fenced off for a number of months. Its social media pages said at the time that a “few issues” outside of its control kept pushing the date back.
Recruitment has been stop/start since July last year, but the latest campaign started in October. Twenty jobs – a mixture of full and part-time roles – have been created.
A spokesman said: “The store’s opening day has been confirmed as December 1st and will create 20 new jobs, which are a mix of full and part-time.
“On the opening day there will also be a giveaway of 100 reusable cups for the first 100 customers.”
The store will be run by the coffee company’s first UK franchised business partner 23.5 Degrees, which also opened a drive thru in Tamworth earlier this year.
