Winning the Small Business of the Year title at the Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards was the “highlight of the year” and a “massive boost” for online beer retailer, Best of British Beer.
Now company co-founder Will Sherwin has called on Staffordshire businesses to submit a free 2024 awards application ahead of today’s 5pm deadline, after enjoying “invaluable exposure” in the months following their win last July.
Will said: “It was one of the highlights of the Best of British Beer year to be recognised for what we do as a company, and to be in the same room as some of Staffordshire’s leading businesses.
“To be told that the judges thought Best of British Beer was the best business in our category was a massive boost to us all.
“The exposure that your company can gain from entering the Chamber Awards is literally priceless. While winning is great, the taking part alone can help improve your profile locally.”
Best of British Beer were named 2023 Small Business of the Year, alongside Trentham Foods, after enjoying an incredible 12 months of trading, which included giving 51% of their business away to their staff.
Will added: “While winning was obviously the icing on the cake, we had a great time during the pre and post dinner drinks. We’ve made lots of new friends and really felt part of the Staffordshire business community.
“The awards ceremony was brilliant! The night flowed seamlessly and the comperes were great at keeping excitement levels high.
“If I had a choice between nipping out for a spot of lunch on Friday or spending a couple of hours putting together your company’s application my advice would be to do the latter. Lunch can wait, entering the Chamber Business awards can’t!”
Small Business of the Year is one of 15 category awards available to enter this year, which also includes two brand new categories, the Responsible Business of the Year and the Learning and Development Award.
Businesses can submit their free Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards application ahead of the deadline on Friday, 22 March, here.
