Advanced system integration specialist Capula has invested £200,000 in solar panels at its Staffordshire base.

The solar photovoltaic installation at the company’s offices in Stone will supply green energy to its facilities.

Capula is already reaping the benefits as the new system has already generated more than 20 MWh of electricity in just three months.

The industrial automation and control systems integrator for critical infrastructure and energy, which employs 370 people across four sites, expects the investment to be paid back within five years.

Steve Tellwright, Capula’s People and Quality Director, said: “We continue to support our clients in the energy sector as they deliver projects that are providing greener energy to the UK.

“As the energy landscape changes, as well as supporting our customers, we also must look at how we meet our energy needs as part of our own net-zero ambitions.”

In parallel to the installation, Capula has also designed a system that captures and visualises the data from the solar PV system.

This is adding analytics to present a comprehensive detailed digital dashboard of the electricity generated in real-time.

This latest project is a further development in the delivery of Capula’s Carbon Reduction Plan following the installation of EV chargers at its offices in 2023.
