Businesses are set to benefit from a unique insight into the economy from leading economist Vicky Pryce when she visits Staffordshire just one week ahead of the general election.

The current Chief Economic Adviser at the Centre for Economics and Business Research, Vicky is set to address businesses at the bet365 Stadium on Wednesday, 26 June, at the Big Business Breakfast, organised by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.

Rachel Laver, Staffordshire Chambers CEO, said: “As former Head of the Government Economic Service and a respected author and commentator, Vicky’s understanding of economic dynamics and policy made her the perfect keynote speaker for our event theme – Economic Insights: Positioning Your Business for Success.

“Our Big Business Breakfast series was launched by the Timpson Group’s CEO, James Timpson OBE, to a sold-out Staffordshire audience in March this year.

“Vicky was headhunted as the perfect successor to follow James in the series – bringing a unique economic insight to businesses here in Staffordshire.”

Guests will also hear from Mark Gregory, Visiting Professor of Business Economics at Staffordshire University, who has developed the methods used to measure the economic and social impact of seismic organisations including NFL Europe, RFU and the Premier League. Mark will help to localise the national economic picture for Staffordshire businesses.

Businesses will also hear the results from the latest Quarterly Economic Survey, which is currently open for responses.

Rachel added: “The event represents a fantastic opportunity for Staffordshire businesses to access unique economic insights, enjoy unrivalled networking opportunities – while enjoying a delicious cooked breakfast courtesy of Stoke City’s brilliant catering team.

“It’s fitting timing, too, taking place just one week ahead of the general election.”

Businesses can book tickets for the event, which is sponsored by IronMarket Wealth, via the Chamber website, here.
