A family-run business enjoying a busy awards season 12 months after relocating to a new £9 million headquarters is looking to welcome more staff.
Browns Distribution completed a move to a new base in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, in February last year and has continued to grow since.
The company says its people are one of its key assets and play a crucial role in providing the top level of service its customers receive.
A number of jobs have become available at the firm; mostly driver and warehouse positions, however there are also some office-based roles available.
A recruitment open day takes place at the company’s headquarters on Chemical Lane East between 11am and 4pm on Saturday, 20 July.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a guided tour of the facilities, truck tours and demonstrations and the chance to meet the Browns team.
Managing Director David Brown Jr said: “We have been growing at a steady, sustainable rate for the last six or seven years now and we have continued to grow in all areas of the business since moving to our new headquarters.
“We offer a really good service on the back of amazing talent within the company and want to bring in more staff as we onboard more contracts with existing clients and win more work.
“We want people to know where we are, what we do and get a feel for how we operate.”
Browns Distribution has made the final of every awards scheme it has entered this year. The company won the Commercial Growth award at the Palletline Awards last month and was shortlisted in the Environmental and Social Impact award category at the same event.
Browns was also a finalist in the Medium/Large Business of the Year award at the Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards and was highly commended in the UKWA Awards For Excellence’s Logistics Service Provider of the Year award last week (note: 10 July).
And the company is in the running for both the Customer Care and Haulier of the Year awards at the Motor Transport Awards as well as Business of the Year at the Staffordshire University Business Awards with both of these ceremonies being held in September.
Browns’ 87,000 sq ft Tunstall distribution centre, Distribution House, has also recent been graded ‘AA’ for the BRGCS Storage and Distribution standard – the highest possible announced audit status.
BRCGS, a leading global brand and consumer protection organisation, sets benchmarks for best practices in food safety, packaging, storage, and distribution, recognising quality, safety, compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement.
David added: “This is a very prestigious accreditation and an outstanding achievement for us.
“From our warehousing team to our drivers on the roads, everyone has played a crucial role in this rigorous process, and it’s a clear demonstration of our ambition, and dedication to providing the best service levels in Staffordshire and beyond.”
