Representatives from some of the world’s best known cruise line companies are coming to Leek for a cruise holiday showcase.

The event, set for Leek Golf Club on Wednesday, 25 September, will feature three ocean-going cruise line companies and three river cruise specialists.

Big names such as Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, APT River Cruise, Celebrity Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Scenic River Cruises and Riviera Cruises will be involved.

Organiser and travel consultancy Get Set Go is partnering with the Leek Golf Club captain, Tony Lovatt, with all proceeds from the £3 entry fee going to Dougie Mac, the golf course captain’s charity for 2024.

John Lehnert.

John Lehnert, owner of Stoke-on-Trent-based Get Set Go, said: “Cruise holidays have never been more popular, with 2.3 million holidaymakers from the UK and Ireland holidaying on board ship last year, according to the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA)

“There’s been a huge surge in interest in recent years, at the CLIA conference last May, 82 per cent of the people who cruised in 2023 said they would cruise again and 71 per cent of people who have never cruised are now open to do so.

“As an enthusiast, I believe there’s a cruise for everyone, something to suit all tastes, and we will be showcasing a cross-section of the best experiences aboard ship at our event.

“Visitors will hear from representatives of well-known international cruise lines. There’ll be offers on holidays and special presentations to suit both seasoned cruise enthusiasts and holidaymakers looking to set sail for the first time.

The event has also teamed up with stylist Lisa Perry, of Stone-based Cabi Clothing, who will be showcasing her latest collections.
