Livin’ La Vida ‘Local’… new Mexican and Spanish-style restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent’s cultural quarter

The owners of a new restaurant are promising festival time in Stoke-on-Trent with their Mexican and Spanish-inspired cuisine.

Fiesta, which launches today on Piccadilly, Hanley, will serve up tapas dishes including padron peppers, chicken pintxo skewers, champinones al ajilo and carne picada. There’s also room on the menu for classics like burgers and tacos, each with a variety of sauces and garnishes.

The restaurant, which is decked out with Day of the Dead-style murals, sombreros, bunting, colourful tables and soft furnishings, is the brainchild of a local business duo.

Jack Hardy and Ian Orton have transformed their Hideway Hanley café bar into the colourful new eatery.

The kitchen will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until 10pm, tables are based on walk-ups with no bookings required.

Fiesta is part of a growing scene of restaurants, bars and cafes opening on and around Piccadilly, tapping into the local theatre and visitor economy.

It comes on the back of a high-profile thumbs up for the successful Little Dumpling King, also based on Piccadilly.

The Asian-influenced restaurant, which boasts ‘heavy scran, natural wine and loud music’ was reviewed by food critic Jay Raynor for The Guardian who said: “The overwhelming sense is that the people who work here give a damn, about quite a lot of things.”

Fiesta is situated on Piccadilly at the heart of Hanley’s growing restaurants, bars and cafes scene.
