LoveNUL Business Awards voting opens following ‘overwhelming’ public response

Organisers of a business awards scheme say they are “blown away” by the number of nominations received this year.

The LoveNUL Business Awards 2024 launched last month with residents and suppliers invited to put forward their favourite Newcastle-under-Lyme businesses in a variety of categories.

Newcastle-under-Lyme Business Improvement District (BID) has received double the number of entries – over 900 individual entries – compared to the inaugural event last year.

Voting is now live, and the public are encouraged to cast their votes and support the businesses that make a difference in the community.

BID Manager Charl Pearce said: “We’re blown away by the incredible response to this year’s awards. The number of nominations exceeded all expectations doubling what we received last year!

“It’s great to see not just the public’s engagement, but also how excited the businesses themselves are about the awards.

“It’s so important to recognise the businesses in Newcastle that consistently deliver outstanding service and enrich the lives of both residents and visitors.”

Dozens of businesses are now hoping for success across 11 categories ranging from Beauty/Personal Care Business of the Year to Best New Business, Market Trader of the Year and Visitor Attraction of the Year.

There will also be a LoveNUL Community Champion of the Year chosen by the judging panel of the Newcastle-under-Lyme BID Board.

Voting closes on Wednesday, 16 October and the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, 24 October at the Denise Coates Foundation Building at Keele University.
