An iconic Stafford venue will reopen its doors later this month following a six-figure investment into its refurbishment.
Social, located under Top of the World in Newport Road, has undergone significant work to transform it into a spot with state-of-the-art features, live entertainment and two distinct rooms catering for different tastes.
The venue, which has had a number of names over the years, has been closed since September of last year when it flooded and a decision was made to reinvest in it.
Work has included pulling down ceilings, knocking down walls and fitting new air conditioning.
The new place will open on Saturday, 26 October.
Social’s showroom, which will be open from 9pm until 1.30am, will host nights of live music, cabaret performances, interactive quizzes and DJs. The newly-refurbished room boasts a grand stage equipped with cutting-edge lighting and video walls, creating an immersive atmosphere.
At the back of the venue, the disco room, open from 11pm until 3am, promises to be the ‘heart of Stafford’s late-night scene’.
It will feature a spectacular video ceiling and DJs spinning an eclectic mix of RnB, DnB, house, and club anthems.
In excess of 30 staff will be working on events and nights at the new place, and all but five of them are new to the venue.
The grand reopening event will kick off with a cabaret dance show and a live performance from the acclaimed Reservoir 5 band in the showroom, with DJs including Lee Cotter in the disco room.
General Manager Nick Parkinson, who moved to Stafford to take over the management of the venue just before the Covid-19 pandemic, said: “We’ve poured our passion into creating an amazing space for the people of Stafford to enjoy.
“Our aim is to offer a night out featuring cabaret acts, live bands, singers and more bringing a night of entertainment in our front room with a disco and dancefloor in our back room.
“We aim to offer all this under one roof to give you a choice of ways to enjoy your night out depending upon your taste.”
Social will also have a secret garden with horse box bar and fully covered seating.
