More than 9,000 votes were cast in an awards scheme celebrating businesses in Newcastle-under-Lyme – with the shortlist now revealed.
Thirty-six businesses, organisations and individuals will be hoping for success at the LoveNUL Business Awards 2024 being held at the Denise Coates Foundation Building at Keele University on Thursday.
They have been invited to the ceremony following a public nomination and voting process, which saw over 900 entries made – more than double the number for last year’s inaugural event.
The shortlist is:
Beauty & Personal Care Business of the Year Award – Salon 103 Hairdressers, Salon Pink, The Hair House.
Bar/Night Time Venue – Cappello Lounge, Mellards, Yates.
Cafe of the Year Award – Community Junction Café, Mado Café, Piccoloco.
Classic Pub of the Year Award – Bridge Street Ale House, Little Vic, Waggon & Horses.
Independent Business of the Year Award – Hollie’s Haberdashery, Paws & Co, The Hair House.
Market Trader of the Year Award – San’s Funky Kitchen, Taylor’s Plants, Vicky’s Bakes.
New Business of the Year Award – Divinity Well Being, Crepz Club, The Hair House.
Professional Services Award – E.L Norman Photography, Safer Hand Care Solutions, Thompson Wright.
Retailer of the Year Award – Dougie Mac, Holland and Barrett, Hollie’s Haberdashery.
Restaurant of the Year – Cappello Lounge, Peaches, STOCK by FEASTED.
Visitor Attraction of the Year – Brampton Museum, Castle Artisan Market, Philip Astley Centre.
LoveNUL Community Champion of the Year Award – Chesterton Youth Club, Circle of Friends / Jane Hopewell Williams, Community Junction Café.
The awards are organised by Newcastle-under-Lyme Business Improvement District (BID).
BID Manager Charl Pearce said: “It’s fantastic to see both long established businesses and new faces nominated in the LoveNUL Business Awards this year.
“The mix of those who have been part of the town for years alongside exciting newcomers really highlights the diverse range of what our town has to offer.”
