Up to 50 teams from businesses and organisations from across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire are wanted to take part in a sports day – to help raise £50,000 for local charities.
The first ‘Knot a Sports Day’ was held earlier this year and saw 31 teams raise £13,000 for a range of good causes. But organisers from the Knot Events group – made up of 10 local businesswomen – have set an ambitious target for 2025 to see more people take part and raise even more money.
Next year’s event will take place at the University of Staffordshire on Friday, June 27, and will feature fun activities and all the nostalgia of a traditional sports day.
Several popular events, such as the egg and spoon race, go karts and ‘human snake’, will make a return, alongside some exciting new additions which are currently being kept under wraps.
Jenny Johnston, people and culture manager at KMF Group Limited and ‘Knot Events’ team member, said: “Last year’s event was an incredible success, bringing together an amazing community of participants and raising significant funds for our 10 local charities.
“We’re thrilled to build on that momentum in 2025, with an ambitious target to raise £50,000. This year, we’re aiming to bring together up to 50 teams, and after the great response from 2024, we’re confident we can surpass that goal.
“One of the key takeaways from last year was the sheer enthusiasm and teamwork that everyone brought— something we hope to see even more of this time. Our popular carousel events, such as the egg and spoon, go karts and human snake, which were fan favourites, will be making a return, alongside some exciting new additions that we’re eager to reveal.
“Together, we’re making a real difference, and we can’t wait to see what this year has in store.”
An early bird discounted offer is currently available to teams that took part in 2024. For more information, visit the Knot Events website.
