A Newcastle-under-Lyme-based software business has helped a haulage company in the north-east to grow ‘five-fold’.
Velocity Transport Solutions, which was founded in 2016 in Sunderland, praised Chesterton-based HaulTech after investing in their transport management system (TMS). Velocity has grown from ‘a handful’ of HGVs in 2020 to more than 15 today, working across ambient, chilled and frozen goods.
HaulTech’s TMS enables users to create, schedule, assign and manage jobs through a single point of data entry, as well as streamlining invoicing.
Mike Bones, head of transport at Velocity, said: “We have offices across the region and the accounting department is not in the same building as my transport team. HaulTech provides us with a central register where we can access all the information we need.
“The biggest benefit for us is that it streamlines our invoices. It links in with our accounting software, meaning we can move from proof of delivery to invoicing at the push of a button.
“HaulTech have been fantastic – they are extremely flexible and responsive to our needs. We cannot fault them at all.”
Designed to meet the needs of independent hauliers, HaulTech’s TMS can reduce administrative processes by up to 80 per cent. It also helps haulage companies to control and cut operational costs.
HaulTech Executive Director Clare Chidlow said: “Since 1993 HaulTech has been developing professional transport management and warehouse management software, together with a wide range of vehicle camera, tracking, telematics and tachograph hardware solutions that enable fleet operators to achieve their potential.
“Velocity Transport Solutions is no exception, and I’m delighted that our technology and service is playing an instrumental part in their continued success.”
