Sustainability under the spotlight at free business event

1 min read

Businesses are invited to a free event with industry experts to explore sustainability as a driver for commercial value and growth.

Hosted by Stoke-on-Trent-based consultancy Map Room, which was recognised as one of the Sunday Times Top 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies earlier this year, the Sustainable Staffordshire event will look at practical strategies to reduce costs, drive revenue and create growth through sustainable business practices.

The free event will take place on Wednesday, December 11, from 10am to 12pm in the Potters’ Club in Station Road, Stoke.

Keynote speakers at the Federation House event include: Darran Messem, consultant and non-executive director in sustainability, transport, energy and built environment; Josie Morris MBE DL, managing director of certified B Corp Woolcool; and Ben Allison, programme manager at the Parogon Group, which is also a B Corp.

Map Room’s director of commercial sustainability, Liam Maguire, who will host the event and lead discussions on the practical steps businesses can take toward sustainable and profitable growth, said: “At Map Room, we believe sustainability isn’t just about a greener future – it’s about smarter, more profitable business practices today. We’re proud to bring this conversation to the heart of Staffordshire, where our business journey began.”

Attendees will gain insights into the local impact of B Corp certifications, the future of sustainable innovation, and how companies like Parogon and Woolcool are leading the way in sustainable growth and local impact.

The event will include networking opportunities and refreshments such as bacon butties and mince pies. Spaces are limited, and can be booked online here
