A law firm has made a multi-million-pound investment into the Newcastle-under-Lyme offices where the company started out.
Knights has grown significantly in the last decade to become one of the UK’s largest regional legal services business.
The growth has been driven from the firm’s office at The Brampton in Newcastle – known nationally as its Stoke base – and one of North Staffordshire’s most recognisable office buildings.
Work has included bringing a roof terrace, auditorium and extensive client and media suite into the heart of the local business community.
Colleagues have just moved back into the office following the 12-month refurbishment project.
CEO David Beech has plans for Knights to double in size in the next few years – but has not forgotten where the roots of the business lie, dating back to 1759 in Newcastle.
He said: “This office is more than just a building. It represents the start of our story and the foundation of everything we’ve built as a business over the last 12 years. This is a landmark moment.
“People are sometimes quick to knock Stoke and Staffordshire, but the team here have been a driving force behind our journey – and I know that will continue as we embark on the next stage of our growth.
“This multi-million-pound project is an investment in our people, but also in the local business community – because we’re right at the heart of it.
“We are now one of the largest legal services businesses in the country, and we are the only one fully focused on delivering great service all over the UK regions, including here in Staffordshire, where it all began for us.”
Knights has more than two dozen offices across the UK.
The move is the company’s latest investment in Grade A, energy efficient offices across the UK, all designed to ensure the business’s working spaces support collaboration among colleagues and provide a first-class experience for clients.
So far this year, 26 senior professionals have joined the Knights team, with annual revenues reaching £150 million.
