Former West End star expands fairytale Staffordshire business

1 min read

A former West End performer who launched a children’s entertainment company out of her own garage has upgraded her business premises.

Hayley Marie-Ashley’s Wish Upon a Princess brings fictional characters to life at parties and events across the county and beyond.

She started the venture in 2015 after spotting a unique opportunity in the market for princess parties following the birth of her daughter.

Wish Upon a Princess moved from Hayley’s garage in Packmoor to Silverdale Enterprise Centre in 2022 and has now taken on a bigger unit there.

Hayley Marie-Ashley runs Wish Upon a Princess.

The premises have allowed Hayley, who once starred in hit musical shows such as Annie with Paul O’Grady, to expand her services, which now include a wider variety of characters and live performances of popular songs.

Her business was described as ‘busier than ever’ in the run up to Christmas.

The enterprise centre, near Newcastle-under-Lyme, is run by Staffordshire County Council.

Philip White, the council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, said: “Stories like Hayley’s show the importance of facilities like Silverdale Enterprise Centre. It’s inspiring to see local talent thrive in our spaces, creating joy for families while contributing to the county’s growing small business community. We’re proud to support businesses like Wish Upon a Princess.”
