A Burntwood-based developer of affordable housing has been appointed to build almost 200 new council homes as part of an estate’s major redevelopment.
Keon Homes has been announced as the construction partner for a £40 million project given planning approval in late December.
The proposals will see 205 outdated residential properties demolished. And replaced with 188 new two, three and four-bedroom highly energy-efficient homes for rent.
Keon Homes if working with City of Wolverhampton Council on the project on the New Park Village estate in the city.
Demolition will begin this month with Keon Homes expected to start its work this summer.

“Spanning two phases, we will work with the City of Wolverhampton Council to build out the properties, featuring ample parking space and designed around carefully thought-out open spaces.
“This is one of the first projects we have worked on as part of the new Housing Development Framework and highlights what a progressive local authority is looking to achieve by providing not only housing, but a place where people and families are proud to call home.”
The redevelopment scheme will be phased over several years to minimise disruption to residents.
