Cheadle-based Vulcan Refractories has opened an office in Spain as the company continues to strengthen its presence in Europe.

The new office in Ames, in A Coruña, comes after the firm opened a German sales office in Dusseldorf in February last year.

The firm, which employs 40 people at Brookhouses Industrial Estate, has also confirmed it is looking to open further offices in other European countries this year.

A spokesperson said: “This new office marks another milestone in our journey to serve our customers better by bringing our industry-leading refractory solutions closer to key regions.

“We are committed to building strong relationships with businesses in Spain, Portugal, and across Latin America, contributing to their success with our innovative and quality-driven products.”

Vulcan Refractories was established in Cheadle in 1969 and manufactures a comprehensive range of high performance refractory shapes and infra-red heaters.

All products are manufactured in the UK, with 75 per cent of the production being exported worldwide.

The company became part of the Zampell group in 2012.
