A specialist holiday company has increased its portfolio by 20 per cent, as it reports trade sales are up 35 per cent year on year.
Solmar Villas has added over 500 new properties taking its total collection to almost 2,500.
A large proportion of the new properties for this year are in the Greek Islands. Skopelos is a new destination for 2025 and many new properties are also added in Kefalonia, Lefkas and Zakynthos.
The family-run firm based in Burton upon Trent has grown a lot in recent years expanding into various parts of Europe as well as entering the long-haul market by adding villas in the USA to its portfolio.
It was acquired by DER Touristik UK, part of DER Touristik, the second largest travel group in Europe, this time last year and went on to win a record-breaking nine golds at the British Travel Awards in November after a ‘phenomenal 12 months’.
Managing Director Julie Blake said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our collection so significantly for 2025, offering our biggest ever choice of good value self-catering holidays across the Mediterranean and beyond.
“Greece and the Greek Islands continue to be a firm favourite with our guests so it’s exciting to be increasing our range there and expanding into new islands such as Skopelos.
“With a new brand campaign on TV – our biggest yet – and our first ever agent fam trip incentive underway, January is set to be a fantastic month. Early signs are great, with trade sales up 35 per cent year on year and our incentive proving very popular. It’s wonderful to see so many of our partners eager to experience the Solmar Villas product.”
The new multi-million-pound ‘Licence to Chill’ advertising campaign was shot on location in Cyprus and is running across ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, as well as further digital terrestrial and on-demand services.
Solmar Villas, which specialises in holiday properties with private pools and celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, also has a celebrity-partnership with TV star Will Mellor.
