Crowdfunding campaign launched as next Feast Festival edges closer

1 min read

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to raise at least £10,000 to help keep a free food festival running.

Chef Cris Cohen hopes the initiative will bring in more support for Feast Festival which drew in more than 1,000 when it first took place in November last year.

The event was staged thanks to funding from the Stoke High Street Accelerator Project in association with Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the UK Government.

The next one takes place next Friday, 23 May in Stoke town centre with food vendors and live entertainment set to take place along Wolfe Street from 5pm until 9pm. Another event is planned for 20 June.

Those who contribute to the Feast Festival appeal can benefit from rewards including a recipe bag from Cris, a takeaway from the Ramen street food stall Stock, and a private dining experience.

Cris, pictured above, who founded Feast Festival, said: “We need your support to help us ensure that this great event can continue beyond June.

“Entry to The Feast Festival is free, so if you enjoyed the first festival and want to see it continued, or even if you just like the idea of bringing people back into the centre of Stoke for a fun family event, please give whatever you can!

Highlights of next week’s festival include street food from across the globe, a craft and makers’ market, live music from local musicians and entertainment.

Cris added: “We’re bringing the joy of shared food, local talent, and good vibes right to the heart of the city.

“After an incredible turnout at our last event we want to further demonstrate that Stoke has a desire for delicious food events. It’s all about turning a regular Friday into a celebration of community, culture, and connection.”

Anyone interested in being a vendor at the event should email hello@feasted.co.uk
