A group of almost 40 colleagues have gone the distance to raise money for mental health charities and local community support services.

A 37-strong team from Tara Group trekked 22 miles from Chasewater to a Keon Homes development in Birmingham, raising more than £8,000 for suicide prevention charity Suicide&Co and local initiative, Burntwood Be A Friend.

Funds were raised through individual and team sponsorships, with a ‘generous’ donation also made by Tara Group’s own charitable trust, The Noel Sweeney Foundation.

Tara Group, headquartered in Chasetown, includes Chasetown Civil EngineeringCameron Homes and Keon Homes.

Euan Grant, Managing Director at Chasetown Civil Engineering, said: “This walk was a powerful and personal effort by our teams to support those experiencing isolation, mental health struggles, or crisis in our communities.

“We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part and thankful to all who donated.”
