A family-run removals and storage business has opened its second facility in Stone just four years after launching with a single van.
Founded in 2021 by husband-and-wife team Katie and Alex Skyrme, Location Removals has grown into a thriving operation with a fleet of vans and HGV trucks, two storage facilities, a dedicated office base and a growing team of full-time staff.
The latest expansion, located opposite the company’s existing warehouse on Diamond Business Park, has doubled the business’s storage capacity and created several new jobs across office, removals and logistics roles, including a new trainee post leading to a fully funded HGV licence.
It takes the business to 80 indoor containers, eight outdoor 20ft shipping containers and bay storage for larger items, and also features an on-site office where customers can discuss their storage or removals needs face to face.

Co-founder Katie Skyrme said: “Opening our second storage facility is a huge milestone for us and something we’re incredibly proud of. When we started the business in 2021 with just one van, we could never have imagined the level of growth we’d achieve in such a short space of time.
“As someone with a background in estate agency, I know how stressful moving can be, so providing customers with not just removals but modern, secure storage and a supportive, face-to-face service has always been important to me. This new facility allows us to do even more for our customers, and it’s exciting to see the business continue to grow while staying true to our family values.
The couple say they chose Stone as their base due to its central location, strong community feel and excellent transport links. The new unit, which opened in June, was previously unoccupied and has been refurbished to offer a clean, secure and practical environment for personal and commercial storage.
Co-founder Alex Skyrme, who previously worked in the transport industry, added: “This expansion marks a major step forward for us, both operationally and as a business. We’ve gone from running a single van just a few years ago to operating a fleet that includes HGVs under our own operator’s licence, and now two purpose-built storage units.
“With my background in transport and logistics, I know how vital the right infrastructure is, and this facility gives us the space and capacity to keep growing. We’re proud to be creating local jobs, investing in the community, and offering real opportunities, including a new trainee role that leads to a funded HGV licence. We’re just getting started.”
