A specialist business property adviser has described Staffordshire as a popular county for purchasers seeking a pharmacy.
Christie & Co made the statement after announcing the sale of high-dispensing pharmacy Colliery Pharmacy in Huntington, Cannock, to Harvey Northwood who operates Northwoods Chemists.
Colliery Pharmacy had been owned by B & H Healthcare Limited for over 10 years and was brought to market by the health centre GPs, who decided to pass the operation to an experienced pharmacy operator.
Carl Steer, Director – Pharmacy at Christie & Co, said: “Staffordshire has proved a popular county for purchasers seeking a pharmacy in 2025, with Colliery following our recent sale of Balance Street Pharmacy in Uttoxeter, and with two more sales to complete in the county in the coming months.
“Sellers are enjoying a much-improved market for selling in 2025, and with the advent of the new contract, buyers are keen to secure a pharmacy at greater numbers than perhaps we have seen since 2019.”
Northwoods Chemists, headquartered in Penkridge, is a group of seven pharmacies in South Staffordshire and Wolverhampton.
Colliery Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
