SOCOTEC accelerates growth in Ireland with new Dublin office

1 min read

Testing and inspection specialist SOCOTEC has opened a new office in Dublin, which it says marks a ‘significant’ milestone its plans to expand across Ireland.

The new office follows the acquisition of infrastructure firm Lloyds Datum Group reported by Daily Focus last autumn.

Burton upon Trent-based SOCOTEC is looking to provide more of its comprehensive technical consultancy services throughout the Irish market and the new Dublin office represents a natural progression from SOCOTEC’s existing engineering facility in Letterkenny.

Wayne Somanna, Associate Director for Fire Engineering, who will lead the new capital city location, said: “Our business unit is focusing on strategic, specific key targets rather than mass expansion and while this Dublin office is primarily for engineering use, it’s a good indication of what SOCOTEC plans to do when it comes to further expansion into the country.

“We’re not only focusing on engineering but offering holistic technical consultancy services.”

A figure has not been put on the investment into the new office and while no new jobs have been created so far, the team is expected to increase in numbers as part of the company’s expansion plans.
