All jobs saved as retail support firm is rescued

All 37 jobs at a retail support specialist have been saved as part of a pre-packaged sale.

Tean-based UK Operational Project Support (UKOPS), which specialises in building maintenance and facilities management, has been sold to Euro Operational Project Support (EuroOPS).

UKOPS faced extended disruption following Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic, with retail site closures and halted client activity leading to periods of inactivity.

These pressures contributed to financial strain with pressure on cash flow and working capital, prompting the company to seek restricting advice from PKF Smith Cooper and the securing of a pre-packaged sale.

Dean Nelson, Joint Administrator and Head of Business Recovery and Restructuring at PKF Smith Cooper, said: “I am thrilled with the outcome we have achieved in saving the business as a going concern, securing all jobs and a bright future for the business.

“Seeking assistance at the first sign of distress is the best way to understand, determine, and secure future options for your business, protecting customers and employees.”

EuroOPS, also based in Tean, was founded in 2011 and works in the non-merchandise sector with a blue-chip client base.
