Free dragon boating, large group boat sessions and children’s activities are on offer at an open day to celebrate Trentham Canoe Club’s 20th anniversary.
The event will be held at the club’s boathouse in Trentham Gardens on Sunday, 12 July from 10am until 4pm.
There will also be a raffle and opportunities to meet the club’s coaches and volunteers to find out more about canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, dragon boating and other ways to get involved on the water.
Club committee member Juliet Moran, Technical Director of Stoke-on-Trent-based technology company Systems.co.uk, is encouraging fellow business owners and professionals to attend.
She said: “Running a business can be all consuming, and it is easy to spend every week focused on work, screens and meetings. I have found Trentham Canoe Club is a fantastic local organisation that gives people the chance to get outdoors, relax on the water and meet others in a friendly environment.
“I have found it so helpful for my mental health to be able to go out on the water after a stressful week at work and just relax.
“This anniversary event is a great opportunity for local business people to support a community organisation and maybe find a new hobby for themselves, their families or their staff.”
Free sessions being held on the open day are suitable for anyone over the age of eight, and no specialist water clothing is required as the group boats are suitable for beginners.
Dragon boating and large group boat sessions must be booked in advance.
