Tara Group has launched a strategic land promotion business with around 150 acres of sites already under consideration for development.
Tara Strategic Land will work with landowners and agents to secure planning permission for sites, with a mix of brownfield, greybelt and agricultural land already in the pipeline.
The new division will target sites to support the five-year land delivery plans for Tara Group’s sister companies Cameron Homes and Keon Homes, as well as external clients and to facilitate land disposal agreements with developers.
Kate Tait, who joined Tara Group in 2020 and has over 35 years’ experience in residential development in the Midlands, has been appointed as Tara Strategic’s Director of Strategic Land. She will head up a team alongside Elliott Lawley, Head of Strategic Land.
Kate said: “As the pressure on land supply grows and the planning landscape remains fraught with complexities, strategic land promotion requires an increasingly specialist approach.
“Tara Strategic Land has launched as a business that can move fast, think long-term, and deliver the best strategies and solutions for landowners, communities, and the Group alike.
“From initial conversations through to planning permission, we’ll be hands-on with deep local market knowledge, technical expertise, and a track record of delivering sites that go on to become the homes and places people are proud to live in.”
Chasetown-based Tara Group, which has net assets valued in excess of £100 million, has 300 employees and achieved a £213 million turnover in 2025 via Chasetown Civil Engineering and its two housebuilding divisions.
One of Tara Strategic’s greybelt sites is 20 hectares of development land for up to 430 homes and community facilities in Chasetown, Burntwood.
An outline planning application was submitted to Lichfield District Councilearlier this year for a £150 million development proposal.
