Small and medium-sized businesses can pick up free advice on protecting themselves from cyber threats at a workshop taking place later this month.
Protecting Your Data: Keeping Your Business Data Safe in a Digital World will focus on recognising the financial and reputational impacts of cyber issues and how to introduce robust cyber security and governance.
The event on Wednesday, 14 October is being hosted by Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub, with experts from the West Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre and consultancy firm SYTECH.
Head of Development and Innovation at SYTECH, Adam Evans, said: “Cyber security can sometimes feel like a complex or technical subject, particularly for smaller businesses that may not have dedicated cyber security teams.
“For many businesses, the question is no longer whether cyber security matters, but whether they are doing enough to protect themselves.
“Our aim is to make the subject practical and accessible, giving attendees straightforward advice they can take away and implement within their own organisations.
“From understanding common threats and employee responsibilities to considering cyber essentials, there are steps every business can take to improve resilience.”
The workshop will take place between 9.30am and 12.30pm at The Moat House, Acton Trussell.
