A flourishing recruitment firm has opened new Staffordshire headquarters – and unveiled further expansion plans.
Kenect Recruitment has made Burton upon Trent home of its new head office and national support hub, which will help the company’s various locations with business and franchise development, accounts, marketing, human resources, and UK Sales.
Some new staff have already been taken on and another handful of jobs are set to be created there over the next six months.
The company, started in Rugeley in 2012, provides temporary and permanent staffing solutions to clients within the transport, industrial and commercial sectors.
It has 48 of its own employees, plus around 25 franchisees with their own staff. Together the teams cover most of England with gaps in the North East, South and East and some small parts of Wales and Scotland.
Managing Director Jason Whittenham said Burton was an easy choice of location for the new base and that his hopes for the company are to achieve full UK coverage within three years.
Jason, pictured above, who was born in the town, said: “The town, rich in history and recognised worldwide, is perfectly situated in central England to support our UK operations. It will enable us to meet the growing needs of our UK clients even more efficiently, while still providing them with the highest level of service.”
He added: “We have been and continue to be extremely busy since the Covid pandemic. There are a lot of staff shortages in business at the moment and we are trying to find workers for our clients whilst recruiting for ourselves.”
Kenect Recruitment’s other Burton office, on Hawkins Lane, will continue to operate as normal and is due to expand in the coming months when staff who are based there but cover Derby operations move into a new location.
Three Burton-based recruitment consultant roles are currently available, with more to follow.
This year is already proving a very busy one for the company, with the acquisition of South Essex firm Principle Personnel helping to grow its network of national clients and a new three-year sponsorship deal has also been announced with Burton Rugby Football Club.
