A climate action pressure group is to hold a day-long event highlighting ways of making homes more energy efficient.
The second annual Energy Day to be staged by Moorlands Climate Action (MCA) will take place on Sunday March 5.
During the morning guest speakers will discuss energy-saving solutions for householders which will make it easier for them to reduce energy use.
Speakers during the afternoon will focus on the general transition to greener energy use, and the way forward for the private and social housing sectors in the Moorlands, Staffordshire and the wider region.
“This event will be squarely aimed at the general public who want to improve the way they use and retain energy within their home,” said Mike Jones, Chair of Moorlands Climate Action.
“That’s all the way from simple draughtproofing to installing solar panels or heat pumps.”
The Energy Day will take place at the Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek between 9.30am and 4pm, coinciding with the Totally Locally Leek market day.
Leek Building Society is sponsoring the event, which will be attended by representatives of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and Staffordshire County Council.
Moorlands Climate Action was set up in 2019 to persuade the District Council to declare a climate emergency.
MCA’s Energy group works to encourage greater use of renewable energy and to help people in the Moorlands to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels.

The first 80 to register will receive a free LEB light bulb courtesy of the County Council Climate Fund.
