Free help is available for start-up businesses at an event this week.

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, in conjunction with Staffordshire University, is hosting the Start-Up Friday event and will have key organisations in attendance to talk about the support and opportunities available across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

The event is open to new start-up businesses (those started in the last five years) or any individuals, of any age, who might be interested in starting their own businesses.

It takes place at the university’s Catalyst Building between 12pm and 3pm on Friday, 17 March.

Help on offer includes:

  • Free training and workshops to help start and grow a business.
  • Information on grant funding that is available to help start a business.
  • Specialist advice on areas such as product development, IP and more.
  • Networking opportunities with local start-up businesses.

There will also be key speakers sharing the story of their journey to start up, the help and support they received, as well as the chance to hear from local organisations who can support those who have started or are looking to start.
