Free upskilling courses for SMEs begin

A series of free short courses and masterclasses aimed at helping local businesses are being provided by Staffordshire University

The training sessions cover a host of topics and are open to businesses with a maximum of 250 employees based in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, as well as students and graduates living or working in the same area. 

Upcoming start dates in March are: 

Laura Knight, Business Engagement Development Manager at the university, said: “Our aim is to upskill the area and support local businesses with staff retention, especially with recruitment being such a challenge at the moment. 

“We make sure our courses are as inclusive as possible with really flexible deliveries. 

“It’s a great opportunity for businesses and individuals to get involved.” 

The courses vary in length from two hours to a few weeks and are a mixture of online and in-person classes.
