Stafford high-flyer sets up fund to support local environment projects

1 min read

UK leading cashback shopping site TopCashback has set up a new charitable fund to support local communities.

It has made a significant donation to The Community Foundation for Staffordshire to establish the TopCashback Sustainability Fund.

The company, based in Stafford, made the donation as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) work.

The Community Foundation will use the donation to provide grants to organisations across the county, with the purpose of supporting activities that benefit the natural environment, as well as wider environmental issues.

Activities will also engage people to improve healthy living.  Most grants made will be to smaller, grassroots organisations, and will be around £500, although larger grants will be available for more wide-ranging projects.

The Community Foundation is a team of locally based grant managers with extensive knowledge of local needs. It manages more than £10million of charitable funds each year, which are designed to create a lasting local legacy.

Olly Ragg, Founder and CEO of TopCashback, said: “We have grown from humble roots in Uttoxeter into a global brand, but Staffordshire is still our home.

“We have always taken our commitment to our local community very seriously and this year really wants to ramp-up our impact. We want to create a positive future for the community we exist in. We want to support people and organisations local to us, and we want that support to have a beneficial and sustainable impact.

“One of the ways we can do this is by helping our environment. Everyone knows the environmental challenges facing our planet, and we hope by investing in schemes that help our planet and benefit our local community, we will have a positive impact.”

Faye Williams, Endowments Development Manager of The Community Foundation for Staffordshire, said: “I’m delighted that such a prominent international brand, based in Stafford, are supporting the work of The Community Foundation to improve the health and lives of many across the county.”
