An empty unit in Stoke-on-Trent’s city centre has been taken over by a home fragrance store.

Aroma Obsession currently has a shop in Wolverhampton but will open its second branch at The Potteries Centre on Saturday, 22nd April.

The family-run business will be based in the unit formerly occupied by The Body Shop.

It will stock a wide variety of scented products including candles, bath bombs, body butters, fragrance lamps and reed diffusers.

The firm decided to open in Hanley after running a successful pop-up shop elsewhere in the shopping centre earlier in the year.

Manager Wayne Jarvis said: “We had been looking for another shop and Stoke-on-Trent came to mind because we used to live here many years ago.

“We ran a pop-up shop in January and February, deliberately after Christmas so that we could see what things would be like at its worst and quietest time – we were surprised with how well we did.”

Wayne believes the shop will be a unique offering for the town.

He said: “Other shops in Hanley sell bath bombs or candles but nowhere brings so many scented products together in one place like we do, that’s what makes us different.”
