Staffordshire builder strikes deal for £5.3m housing scheme

Builder Keon Homes has agreed a partnership with a social housing provider for a £5.3 million affordable housing scheme.

The Burntwood-based firm will work with GreenSquareAccord to transform a derelict piece of land in Blakenall, in the Black Country. It is the first time the two organisations have worked together.

The Canalside Close scheme will feature a 33-strong mix of one, two-bed apartments and two and three-bed houses.

It will use low carbon housing services and see timber frame panels built offsite and then installed to provide operational, cost and energy savings.

Work has already started on the project and is expected to be complete by the middle of next year.

Five Keon staff, joined by a network of subcontractors, are overseeing the build.

Matt Beckley, Head of Development at Keon Homes, said: “The Black Country urgently needs more affordable housing and this partnership with GreenSquareAccord is going to deliver exactly that.

“The properties are all high quality and feature the latest energy efficient measures meaning that potential purchasers can move into a home that will immediately help them with the cost-of-living challenge.”

Keon Homes was formed in 2019 and is part of The Tara Group alongside Cameron Homes and Chasetown Civil Engineering
