Businesses in Staffordshire are being urged to take part in a Government-led discussion about how much information it should share about business rates valuations.
The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is looking for feedback from companies who are part of the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce network.
They are invited to join a virtual round table meeting on Friday 21 April between 10.30am and 11.30 am.
The VOA wants to hear from ratepayers, landlords, agents and others on plans to disclose more information on business rates valuations.
It wants business leaders to tell them:
- What extra information it should share about business rates valuations
- What they need to judge if their valuation is fair
- What they consider sensitive data
The consultation will help ministers decide how to proceed and will ensure any decisions made are informed by the input and views of a broad range of people.
The VOA is seeking a cross-section of opinions from across the retail, office, workshop and industrial property sectors, to specifically discuss the disclosure proposal and hear all views and any concerns.
If anyone would like to attend the online meeting, they should send an email expression of interest to Declan Riddell, Stafford Chamber Manager/Policy Adviser, at:
