Six new express-style GO Outdoors stores coming to Staffordshire high streets just in time for summer camping and adventures

GO Outdoors is expanding across Staffordshire with six new express-style stores.

Four branches – in Leek, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Shrewsbury and Stafford – opened last week, with another set to open at Trentham Gardens tomorrow, 25 April, and one in Burton upon Trent launching on Thursday, 27 April.

The high-street style shops are smaller in size and replace Millets stores, which are owned by the same parent company JD Sports

The new stores in Staffordshire have secured 50 job roles and will enable shoppers to pick up specialist outdoor clothing and equipment in high-street locations.

Although the shops are slightly smaller in size, a full range of stock – such as camping, fishing, equestrian and climbing equipment – will be available to order for collection in-store.

Lee Bagnall, CEO of GO Outdoors, said: “We are extremely excited and proud to be able to expand GO Outdoors onto the high streets in Staffordshire and to serve customers within the convenience of their new local store.

“We have had a brilliant couple of years at GO, as more and more people are reaping the benefits of the outdoors for their physical and mental well-being, and this expansion is the outcome of that success.

“We’re looking forward to offering more customers our unbeatable range of outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment, whilst also supporting local communities and high streets.”

The new Go Outdoors stores are stocked ready for summer camping adventures.

The outdoors retail chain plans to continue the expansion of GO Outdoors Express across the country throughout the year.

Elsewhere, GO Outdoors invested in five new and refreshed super-stores last year, with more investment planned in 2023. It’s Stoke-on-Trent superstore reopened in a new, bigger unit at Festival Park at the end of last year.
